You probably thought you would never hear pain and faith in the same sentence. But if we’re honest with ourselves and think about all we have gone through and how far we have come, whether through the good or bad times, we recognize that pain was always a factor in the equation.

The Bible tells us to “Let patience have her perfect work.” (James 1:4). Patience is a person; the Bible refers to her as female.

She works in our lives to help build and strengthen us for our present and future. Patience is a guide and one of few people who can look backward and use past events to help us gain the strength to move on and prevail.

She’s multifaceted, although we don’t understand or know who she is. We know that she is a pivotal part of God’s arsenal.

So, back to pain. How much pain are you in right now? Or you may feel like you haven’t had to endure anything painful, although I find it hard to believe that’s what you think. Just look at the symptoms in your life.

You Already Got What It Takes- FAITH

Faith is a powerful resource and the only substance that can please God. But holding on to your faith will be challenging at times. I’ve had people tell me oh, Diana, you have such great faith, and I’d like to believe I do. I’ve gone through a couple of seasons where the enemy tried to shake my faith, which was tough.

I know God is faithful. He’s done so many miracles in my life, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that it was him still. The enemy came in like a flood. During those times, I called out to God desperately, asking him to help me stand on what I already knew about him.

You may feel like you can’t take it anymore!

Keeping your faith while waiting on God’s hand to move on whatever you need or expect from him can be trying. There may be many nights when you pray and then cry because you feel like you can’t take it anymore. You feel powerless to change circumstances in your life. But wait on God, it will be worth it every time!

You have the answer, but you can’t control the manifestation. God said: Cast your cares upon me because I care for you”. (1 Peter 5:7) the god kind of faith is such a powerful resource and gift from the high God that most people feel that nothing will buck up against it if they have it. But that’s not true.

Genuine faith will be challenged by your enemy. To the extent that, before the end result, which is what you are hoping for, materializes, you will experience some emotional and maybe some physical pain, depending on your situation. So it’s not easy sailing.

I don’t want to give you the wrong idea here for those who have never used faith. You may ask, why would I feel pain when I’m using my faith to receive what God wants me to have? The short answer is that you were born and raised in a world that conditioned you to believe in only what you see. Also, the Burger King world is part of our psyche, and we expect things to go in a specific order.

When they don’t go in a manner that looks like what you want will emerge, you start questioning, and then the emotional jargon starts rising against your faith. Remember, you don’t have anything else if you don’t have faith. At the end of the day, it’s your faith that’s going to get you through the trials and tribulations.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord will deliver him out of all of them.” (Psalm 34:19). You may sometimes feel physical or emotional pain because you’re waiting on God to answer your request or bring the solution. Know that he is near you; “he knows your thoughts and knows them from far off.” (Psalm 139:2)

Keep talking to him. If you are authentic and honest with him, no matter what you’ve done, and if you feel genuine sorrow and repent for what you did, God will help you. He said whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

You can cherish these words and put them in your spiritual bank. God will not change his mind about you. You are always in his heart; his love runs like a river. He told me that he was in love with his people. If you fit that category, he’s talking about you.

Do not let anyone or anything take your faith, though it may be painful to hold onto it. Know that your conversations with God will strengthen you as you talk.

Is God There?

You may have to talk to him three times a day just to get through the fire and smoke in your house, but I’m telling you what I know: He is tried and true. The old folks said,” Hold on to God’s unchanging hand.”

Now, I’ve had people question me and say well, if God is here for me, why am I going through this in the first place? While I don’t know the specifics of your situation, I do know that often, our choices and decisions got us into the situation in the first place.

God is big on mercy.

God is a merciful God; even when we have done wrong, intentionally or unintentionally, he will forgive us if we change our hearts and repent for what we have done.

When did your red flag show up? Maybe you didn’t know for sure, but you felt this might be wrong. The enemy tried to destroy you or your family, so he tempted you to do it in the first place. Give it to God and tell him what you did.

Don’t try to hide from God even though he knows exactly what happened; you must be willing to come clean. If you go to God with lies, you might as well have kept your mouth closed and not even attempted to enter his presence. Trust me, you need the Lord’s help; honesty is the best policy.

The Woman With The Spirit of Depression

When I first became a Senior Pastor, one of the women under me, a prophet like myself, was at the beginning of her service unto the Lord. She suffered from clinical depression and had been for years. Her mother was also severely depressed. I’m talking about the kind of depression that, when it comes on you, shuts you down, and you can’t even get out of bed.

Depression is pain turned inward.

This woman worked for a large corporation five to six days a week. She went to work every day. She was faithful to her job; however, depression would grab hold of her. She started by calling out a day, which turned into three or four days, sometimes a week. This happened throughout her tenure at that company. She is a believer and a Christian who has faith.

All the time, she was going to therapy in Manhattan, but to no avail. Not only was she diagnosed with clinical depression. They diagnosed her as bipolar. Then, 911 happened; she worked across the street from the towers and saw people go out the window. It was so paralyzing to her that she couldn’t go down in the area afterward, and the depression worsened.

She came to live with me at my house in Connecticut. Almost immediately, I noticed the patterns of depression; she would close herself up in her room and wouldn’t come out for 2 to 3 days. All the time, my secretary and I prayed and talked to God in my bedroom, under her.

I said explicitly to God, Lord, you told me you would make her a new woman. You called her into ministry, Lord; she answered your call, and you brought her to my house. God, she will not be able to serve you effectively with depression oppressing her. You’re God; I know you can free her from it.

( this is why it is imperative to know precisely what God’s will is for a person. That way, you can take the prophecy spoken by God about them and war on their behalf with it. It’s the most effective form of prayer and the only way to pray to get results.)

I won’t go into the full story here, as it involves other horrific situations, but it was something to see. She’d come to church and turn her face to the wall, and everybody in the church would look like, ” Oh my goodness, what’s wrong with her.

One day, the Lord destroyed that stronghold of depression in her life; it’s been years now, and she is still free. We had to go through painful situations that were embarrassing to others involved. She lost her job finally after almost 20 years of back-and-forth with depression. The September 11th situation did it. She had to come to live with me, her Pastor.

She was denied disability, which was another fight; we had to get a lawyer. So, for quite a while, she didn’t have any money, but she used her faith, and even when the judge said no to her disability in writing, She got a second letter with a reverse decision and received her disability. That’s how faith works! My secretary and I held on to our faith that God told us he would heal her. She sometimes struggled with her faith because it was the hardest for her.

I Thought Depression Wasn’t Real!!!!

After all, she was the one who had that depression that seemed to violate her in a way that I had never seen before. I told her I used to believe that depression wasn’t real and that people were just using it as an excuse. I went through this with her. But now she is a free woman. And now she’s on fire for God. He made her a prayer warrior. She is the one to ask to pray for you.

Whatever you do, don’t let go of your faith or let the enemy rob you of it. It doesn’t matter what it looks like. Usually, when the Lord makes a promise, things seem to go in the opposite direction of the desired result. This is how you will know that God did it when there is no other way to do it.

Pain is an indication that something is not correct. There’s the situation going on with you that is causing this pain. God is watching the situation. He is on the job. You may ask yourself why the Lord allows this to happen to you. He said,” My ways are not yours, and my thoughts are not yours. Your job is to keep praying and believing; faith and prayer are the two most powerful weapons you are both given by God and part of his arsenal.

There is nothing in this world that is greater than these two friends. My mother used to say you don’t know who your real friends are. Well, I’m here to tell you that God is your actual friend, or at least he’s trying to be, but you must let him. When you allow God into your life and give all of these problems to him, he will provide you with his arsenal, which is unbeatable.

To Every Man the Measure of Faith.

I want to help you understand more about these God-given abilities. Please read the parable of the Talents. Hopefully, you will understand better through the analogy of the Talents.

The Lord of Harvests provides three workers with money (Talents), and how they handle those investments determines his next steps with each of them. Read it for yourself. The Bible gives us insight because God reveals himself to us in many ways, even in nature and our families.

If you don’t focus on God’s word and don’t seek him, you’ll never find him. He went on to say that he is given to every man the measure of faith. So, for those who feel like you don’t have faith, you do. It’s just what you decide to do with the faith that has been given to you.

From a human standpoint, using your faith to change your circumstances can cause discomfort. Faith has its own territory. It’s not supposed to share space with any other belief system. It is its own belief system. Having faith is when you believe wholeheartedly in something out of your reach. Yet when we put our trust in human beings, we are bound to be hurt because they are unaware of what will happen next. Now, for those of you who put your faith in God and do well to do so, it doesn’t mean that there won’t be times of pain just because you believe in God for something.

For example, let’s say you have a medical condition, one that is painful but can be controlled by ibuprofen, yet you’ve reached the point that you don’t want to take pills anymore. You believe you are healed; you prayed and asked God to heal you, and he told you he would.

So, from that perspective, you only have to do two things.

  1. Trust and stand by what God tells you.
  2. Talk to God about everything.

To people who don’t walk in faith and serve God, it’s perplexing, simply put. They think you’re crazy for believing it, but you are fully aware that God will heal you. His Name and His Word are on the line. Before it is said and done, your faith will be tried in every area you use it for.

One person who will try your faith is the enemy; he’s the only one who wants to prove that your faith doesn’t work. Millions can refute that. I am one of those people who has been healed of Chronic Asthma, Cancer, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and more. I’ve even been healed of emotional pain and conflict as well as the physical.

Success
